Il Registro is a free tool that helps you find a verified Italian wedding planner. But we know that the first time you look for a professional for your wedding, a thousand questions arise. We've gathered them here, in order of importance.
Finding the right planner is the first step toward calm.
Section 1
Before contacting a wedding planner
Do I have to pay to use Il Registro?
No, Il Registro is completely free for couples. You can browse profiles, filter by region and specialisation, and contact the planners you're interested in at no cost and without mandatory registration.
It's the registered wedding planners who support the service through their annual membership fee, which grants access to the verified directory and a guarantee system managed directly by Wedding Planners Pro school.
Can I contact more than one wedding planner?
Yes, and we actually recommend it. Most couples contact 3-5 planners simultaneously to compare approaches, availability, and sensitivity. It's a normal and accepted practice in the industry.
Every planner in Il Registro is used to this: it's not rude, it's good practice that lets you make an informed choice.
How far in advance should I start searching?
Ideally 12-18 months in advance for high-season weddings (May-September) and in highly requested venues. Planners in Il Registro often work with couples getting married the following year or even the year after that.
If you have a closer date (less than 6 months), talk about it openly: some planners can still fit you into their schedule, especially for more intimate or off-season weddings.
What do the stars next to the planner's name mean?
The stars indicate the level of training completed by the planner at Wedding Planners Pro school with the Torresan Method. They are not reviews from couples: they are certifications of the training path.
They range from 1 star (Principles Course, foundations of the craft) to 5 stars (PARADISE Master + 1:1 mentoring with Roberta Torresan). More stars mean a deeper training path and additional specialisations completed.
Section 2
How to choose the right planner for you
Is a planner with more stars always better than one with fewer?
Not necessarily. Stars indicate training level, but the right planner for you is the one who best understands your project. A 3-star planner specialised in intimate weddings on Lake Como might be perfect for you even if there's a 5-star one in the same area.
Always consider three factors together: training (stars), geographic and stylistic specialisation, and personal feeling after the first call.
How do I know how much a wedding planner costs?
Costs vary widely depending on the package chosen (full planning, partial planning, day coordination), number of guests, venue, complexity, and services requested.
On Pro and Elite profiles in Il Registro you'll find an indicative budget range that the planner accepts as a minimum project. The personalised quote will come directly from the planner after a short introductory call, once your specific needs are understood.
As a general reference: a professional Italian wedding planner's service typically starts at €3,000-5,000 for day coordination, and grows based on project complexity.
Are the testimonials on profiles verified?
Yes. The testimonials published on planner profiles come from couples who actually worked with them. Every testimonial is moderated by the Il Registro team before being published.
We're working to soon introduce a verified review system where you too, after working with a planner from Il Registro, will be able to leave a review that will help other couples make their choice.
What does Founding Member mean?
The "Founding Members" are the first 30 wedding planners personally selected by Roberta Torresan at the launch of Il Registro. They are long-standing colleagues of the school, leading planners of the Torresan Method, recognised for the quality of their work.
Seeing the "Founding Member" recognition on a profile means it's a planner with an established path, validated by the school since the very beginning of Il Registro.
Section 3
After sending your first request
What happens after I send a message to a planner?
Your message arrives directly and exclusively to the planner via email. The planner receives your contacts (email and phone) to respond to you personally.
Response times vary from planner to planner, but those registered in Il Registro commit to responding within 24-48 hours. The most responsive ones reply within a few hours.
What should I expect from the first reply?
The first reply typically does not contain a quote. Serious planners avoid sending pre-filled price lists: every wedding is different and deserves a personalised quote.
Expect a warm response that thanks you, briefly introduces the planner, and asks some practical questions (date, number of guests, type of ceremony, location). Based on your answers, she'll propose a 20-30 minute introductory call to dive deeper.
Am I obliged to schedule a call with the planner?
No, you're not obliged to anything. If after the initial exchange you don't feel the right rapport, you can simply not proceed. Planners in Il Registro accept this with professionalism.
That said, a 20-30 minute call lets you evaluate much better than written correspondence whether the planner is the right person. It's a time investment that often makes the difference between a wrong choice and an informed one.
Can I change wedding planner after signing the contract?
Yes, but it's a situation you'll want to avoid at all costs. Signing a contract typically involves paying a deposit (usually 30-50%) that may not be refundable.
This is why it's crucial to make a thoughtful choice from the start: talk to 3-5 planners, do the introductory calls, read contracts carefully before signing. Planners in Il Registro are transparent about contractual terms and don't pressure for quick signatures.
Section 4
Guarantees and protections of Il Registro
What does Il Registro guarantee as a service?
Il Registro guarantees that every registered planner has actually been trained at Wedding Planners Pro school with the Torresan Method. We manually verify every application request by consulting the school's archives.
This ensures you're contacting a professional with a documented training path, not just someone who calls themselves a wedding planner. It's our form of guarantee: transparency on professional origin.
Is Il Registro responsible for the planner's service?
No. Il Registro is an informational mediation tool: it connects you with verified planners, but is not party to the contractual relationships between you and the planner you choose.
Every agreement (quote, contract, any disputes) concerns exclusively you and the planner. For more legal details you can consult our terms and conditions (IT).
What can I do if I have a problem with a planner from Il Registro?
If you have a documented negative experience with a registered planner, write to the Il Registro team at hello@ilregistro.wedding explaining the situation.
We cannot resolve commercial disputes between you and the planner (for those, the signed contract applies), but we evaluate every report and we may take action on the planner's membership: from a request for clarification up to, in serious cases, suspension from Il Registro. The quality of our list depends on the quality of the planners in it.
